Privacy
Growing Up is a private place for your child’s memories. Here’s what that means in practice.
Only you can see your memories
Every memory, photo, video and voice note is tied to your account. The database and file storage only let the signed-in owner read or change them. There is no sharing, no public feed and no followers.
Nothing is sent to AI
Your words and recordings are never sent to an AI service. We don't transcribe, summarise or analyse them.
Your recordings stay as you made them
We keep the original photo, video and voice note you saved. We may make a smaller display copy of a photo so it loads quickly, but the original stays unchanged.
What we collect
Your email address (to sign you in), your name and how you'd like to be addressed, your child's name, birth date and optional birth time, and the memories you save. To improve the questions, we count a few anonymous events — like when a memory is saved or which question was offered — but never what you wrote or recorded.
Drafts on your phone
While you're writing, a draft is kept on this device so nothing is lost if you're interrupted. Signing out clears it.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from Account › Delete account. This permanently removes every memory and file. It can't be undone.
Encryption
Data is encrypted in transit and stored with our hosting providers, which encrypt it at rest. Growing Up is not end-to-end encrypted.
